My earliest recollection of being hands on in a creative sense came from making glorious mud pies in my father's vegetable plot, and serving washing up bubbles to imaginary customers at the kitchen window.
Getting my hands messy at a young age was pure delight!
So it's no surprise that I as I got older I returned to this love and fascination by specialising in Fine Metal Clay Jewellery.
Sculpting pieces from this very unique media has dominated my work over the last three years. Especially after attending the Oxford Summer School, where I went on to experiment and refine skills to achieve a unique style in the jewellery collections that I create.
Nature offers an endless bounty of textures which is inspirational in the production of my designs.
Experimentation shows me which barks lend themselves to make a deeper impression than others, which leaves create a soft or harsh effect, and which stones, glass and shell surfaces work better.
Currently I am looking at using a variety of colourful gemstones with different clays such as copper & bronze to enhance the effect of tone and shadow in my pieces.
